The CEO of the municipal cleaning company (Limusa), Juan Francisco Martínez, has offered this morning, on the occasion of World Recycling Day, a balance of the selective collection that Lorca have done during the first months of the year.
Juan Francisco Martínez pointed out that "the selective collection of light packaging has reached its highest figure in almost two decades of implementation in Lorca in April of this year." Lorca has contributed 44,320 kilos to the yellow container, the highest monthly figure since was launched is collected in May 1999 and 23.5% more than the same month of the year 2017. The Chief Executive Officer added that "in statistical terms, the period from January to April averaged a 10.29% increase in the selective collection of light packaging compared to 2017. Public awareness has grown ostensibly in the Lorca municipality as a result of the greater environmental awareness and, presumably, the communication campaigns launched by the municipal company Limusa, both especially between 2015 and 2017 jointly with Ecoembes, and particularly under the campaign called "Land Patrol" that takes place this 2018. "
Martínez explained that "during this time, 205 new recycling bins have recently been added to the urban park in order to bring the availability of recycling capacity closer to the public." Among them, only in recent months, 20 units for the citizen deposit of light containers, those of yellow color, and 65 of green color for the glass, jars and bottles fundamentally, that have been located mostly in districts ".
Juan Francisco Martínez recalled that "the start-up of the hand of Ecoembes of the EducaEnEco initiative along with municipal offices and educational and social centers of the municipality, consisting of the distribution of recycling bins for light packaging and paperboard. of this project is to promote recycling in the day to day of primary schools and, for this, make special emphasis on the involvement of the entire educational community (teachers, non-teaching staff and students), which is offered training and materials to facilitate the separation of waste ".
The CEO highlighted that "in addition to the selective collection, Limusa has opted for citizen awareness in other areas of urban sanitation of the city and waste management, specifically, in urban cleaning and coexistence in a cleaner environment Currently, it promotes the second action of the 'Land Patrol' initiative under the slogan "Do not get into a brown" conciliating between everyday life and pet walks, generally in terms of responsibility for the needs physiological effects of dogs on public roads ".
For the defecations of these animals, Lorca has 110 sanecanes distributed throughout the city and peripheral districts.
