Socialists ask the government team not "racanee" with this form of tourism on the rise, and claim to heed the proposal of the PSOE to enable "fixed" spaces for parking motorhomes, which could be installed both in the entrances to the center of the city, as in the high districts and in the rest of the Guadalentín valley

The councilor of the PSOE, María Antonia García Jiménez sees "insufficient" the support of the City of Lorca to the growing tourism of motorhome, and that is able to leave important economic benefits to municipalities in which it is committed "really".

García Jiménez celebrates that the PP government team, trying to follow the PSOE proposal to promote this type of tourism, has accepted the request of the Association of Motorcaravanistas of the Region of Murcia to park, for three days in the city, half hundreds of these vehicles, as recorded in the minutes of the Local Government Board on May 11, but asked to "go further" and "not racaneen with this type of tourism on the rise."

The request of the Association of Autocaravanistas of the Region adds to the proposal of the PSOE, realized the past month of November, with which they requested the creation of fixed spaces for the parking of motorhomes.

This proposal of the PSOE derives from the importance of creating "new profiles" of tourism in Lorca, from congress tourism, archeology or rural through the wealth of the districts, without neglecting, of course, seasonal tourism as the one of Holy Week, the celebrations of the Pattern and the Employer, and of leisure, like the Fair of September.

Given the lack of ideas of a PP, insists, "exhausted", the PSOE continues to propose initiatives to attract new sectors of tourism.

For this reason, they once again request that one or more parking areas for caravans and similar vehicles be studied and established, and the regulation by means of specific ordinances to allow their location in a regulated manner.

While the city of Lorca is practically foreign to this type of tourism due to the "lack of ideas" of the PP, at present, there is a fleet of users of national caravans with more than 30,000 units, which generates income from domestic tourism of more than 140,000 million euros.

The caravans of the rest of Europe that visit our country amount to more than 200,000 according to the statistics last year, with more than 500,000 tourists, who have contributed more than 280.00 million euros to the coffers of the Treasury.

This form of leisure "is on the rise", and there are associations that organize and report routes and possible overnight stays throughout the peninsula.

This, he adds, generates an economic impact in the municipalities where these public parking areas are located, so they ask that Lorca be included in these itineraries, since it would be "enormously positive" for the city's economy.

They propose, in addition, that from the parking points tourist information of all the activities and places of patrimonial, cultural and leisure interest of Lorca be provided.

The parking areas could be diversified both in the proximity of the different points of access to the city center, as well as in the high districts and in the rest of the Guadalentín valley.
