López Miras promotes a law to solve the problems of Lorca affected by the justification of aid after earthquakes (14/07/2018)

Announces that to justify the aid "will be enough to present a descriptive report on the works made and paid", and ensures that it is "an extraordinary response as extraordinary is the situation of these neighbors"

The president of the Community, Fernando Lopez Miras, today announced a bill to solve the problems of Lorca affected by the justification of the aid received for the rehabilitation of their homes after the earthquakes of 2011. "It is a proposal of law that expedites the resolution of the files and that allows to extend its period of justification, "remarked the head of the regional executive.

Lopez Miras explained that the parliamentary group that presides registered yesterday in the Regional Assembly this bill to be debated in the House, and that will contemplate that "for these affected is enough to present a descriptive report as a responsible statement on the works made and paid. "

He assured that "this will be enough to justify according to the law those aids that some Lorca are having problems to justify."

The regional administration has attended 16,000 applications for aid worth 80 million euros, of which 5,300 correspond to records for the repair of homes after the earthquakes.

Of these, there are around a thousand aid files whose beneficiaries are finding problems to justify their use.

Therefore, the president said that the bill is "a response as extraordinary as extraordinary is the situation to which these neighbors are being subjected."

Likewise, López Miras asked the Government of Spain to "disregard 50 percent of the interest corresponding to the reimbursement of the aid granted for the repair of housing."

He explained that in the regional budgets of this year that forgiveness is already contemplated in the part corresponding to the Autonomous Community;

"That's why what we ask is that the Government of Spain also pay its share."

"From the regional government have always been with Lorca and will continue to be," said the head of the regional executive, who stressed "the excellent work and coordination between the Autonomous Community and the City of Lorca during all this time."
