Works will be carried out in 11 schools, the most relevant being the repair of the heating system and fire-fighting system, installations of electric water heaters, roof and fences repairs, adequacy of the toilets, repairs of playgrounds and improvements in access to the centers.
The total investment by the City Council during this school year for the improvement of schools has amounted to more than 200,000 euros
The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, reported this morning of the different actions of improvement and maintenance that are taking place during the summer in the Pre-school, Primary and Special Education centers of the municipality.
Francisco Montiel stressed that "from the Department we are taking advantage of the break for the summer vacation to carry out a series of improvements requested by the centers, as well as correct damage that occurred during the year with the aim of the centers are perfectly prepared for the start of the school year on September 10th. It should be noted that in addition to the actions that are being carried out by the City Council in this summer season will also be carried out by the centers with the annual budget that the Concejalía devotes to the educational facilities, as is the case of the CEIP San José that is carrying out improvement works in the access to the school.The total investment by the City Council for the improvement and maintenance of the educational infrastructure of the municipality has risen during this school year to more than 200,000 euros ".
The Councilor for Education has stressed that "a total of twenty performances will be carried out in 11 schools that will involve an investment of some 20,000 euros, to which will be added other pending actions." In the list of works we find improvements of all kinds, from repair of the heating system and fire-fighting system, installations of electric water heaters, repairs of the roof and fences until adequacy of the toilets, repairs of playgrounds and improvements in the accesses to the centers, among others ".
Specifically, the San Fernando School has proceeded to repair the heating installation for breakage, as well as the replacement of the damaged section.
In CEIP San Cristóbal, the adjustment of the age of four toilets of older students to younger students and the elimination of three wall urinals has been made, an electric storage tank of 50 liters of capacity has also been installed in Hall II, investing in both actions 1.7000 euros.
At the Juan Gonzales School, adjustments have been made to the toilet of the teachers on the ground floor and in the student toilets of the physical education changing rooms, as well as in the rear access area for an amount of 3,700 euros.
On the other hand, in the CEIP Jose Robles has repaired the playground for children and has been demolished and replaced a piece covers the wall of one of the sides of the inner courtyard of the upper floor of primary education valued at 1,780 euros.
At the Alfonso X School, improvements have been made in both the primary and the children's buildings, the first of which involved the installation of two 50-liter electric water storage thermoses and the second, the substitution for breakage of the central fire warning, the repair of the roof and a section of fence of the back of the center as well as improvements in security for a total amount of the actions of 3,260 euros.
In the CEIP San José has proceeded to the placement in the playground that gives the Alameda a stretch of fence for the protection of the students of the building of early childhood education, as well as the change of location for security reasons of the front of door that separates the access from the general campus of the school to the playground for children, repairing also four banks with a total investment of 1,650 euros.
The value of 200 euros in the Pérez de Hita has been changed, for security reasons, the location of the gate of the access door to the backyard of the 3rd grade building.
In addition, at the Petra González de La Paca School, the interior access door that gives way to the water supply tank, as well as the staircase that gives access to it and the reconstruction of the storage closet, have been replaced by breakage and poor state of preservation. Supply keys for 650 euros.
In Pilar Soubrier, the fire alarm control center of the firefighting installation has been exchanged for an amount of 300 euros.
Finally, Alfonso García López de Purias CEIP repaired the exterior fence of the school grounds and a section of the main facade of the center.
It should be noted that on the part of the Ministry of Education is expected that in the coming weeks begin work on expansion of the Juan Navarro de La Hoya College, which will consist of enabling new classrooms on the ground floor and on the first floor.
The expansion is carried out on the primary module, connecting the new building with the main building, extending its circulation spaces, using the existing vertical communication, service and installation cores.
The total constructed area will be 687.50 m2, the total being reformed 80 m2.
The material execution budget is 360,048.35 euros.
