CCOO Teaching denounces that the lack of personnel in the CEE Pilar Soubrier de Lorca endangers its students (10/09/2018)

Improve the management of the job market, quickly cover work absences and reorganize children with serious behavioral disorders are among the claims of the PPA CEE Soubrier of Lorca, to which CCOO Teaching is added, to end the serious situation of this special education center that is endangering the safety of its students.

Despite the start of the new school year, both the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Education continue without presenting a solution to end the serious situation that exists in the CEE Pilar Soubrier de Lorca and that has generated a strong discomfort among workers and the parents of the students, as they have been denouncing for some time the Association of Mothers and Parents of the Students (AMPA) of this center of special education and CCOO Teaching.

The lack of necessary personnel caused by the absence of more than 20 unfilled places makes it unfeasible that the safety of students can be guaranteed, some of them with serious behavioral disorders that can trigger aggressions, nervousness or attacks.

The exhaustion of the work exchanges that affects the non-teaching staff has meant that the center has not been provided with the resources necessary for its proper functioning, and even that the workers who fill these vacancies lack experience in dealing with this type of work. student body.

From CCOO Teaching we denounce that Public Function, dependent of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, does not always replace the casualties and when it does, in many cases, it is about unskilled personnel or without specific training, which leads to the staff feel overwhelmed on many occasions.

Another disturbing issue is the residence where over 30 children spend the week, some of them with serious behavior disorders and whose habitual residence is more than 80 kilometers from the school.

Precisely, the Inspection decided to close the night residence service today;

what constitutes a patch to the critical situation that the center is experiencing.

We demand that the necessary staff be provided as soon as possible to resume the residency service that is so necessary for both families and students.

Therefore, we claim to improve the management of the job market, quickly cover work absences, reorganize students with serious behavior disorders and approach children to their families and their environment for the purpose to offer at least some minimum security guarantees that allow their students to continue in their educational process.
