The City Council is launching an initiative so that people with disabilities can enjoy the attractions of the fair for free (18/09/2018)

It is the issue of a numbered card that can be withdrawn from the Department of Family and Social Welfare by providing the certificate or document certifying disability degree greater than 33% or dependency (grade I, II and III), the book of family, a photocopy of the DNI of the person requesting the accompanying card as well as that of the person with a disability

The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the Councilor for Family and Social Welfare of the City of Lorca, Fátima Mínguez, presented this morning along with numerous groups of people with disabilities in the city a pioneering initiative that will start the Consistory Lorca with the collaboration of the Fair Trade Association for Lorca Fair 2018.

Fulgencio Gil explained that "from the City of Lorca we are going to launch this year a novel initiative for the benefit of people with disabilities so they can also enjoy the Fair." It is the issue of a numbered card for family members Children or people with disabilities can accompany them at the fairground attractions completely free of charge, so that children or young people who have a disability greater than 33% or dependency grade I, II or III will not have to pay the ticket corresponding to the time to ride in an attraction and accompany them on how many travelers participate ".

The Mayor of Lorca has underlined "the total commitment of the Lorca Consistory with entities such as Apandis, Down Lorca, Astrade, D'Genes, Lorca Active TDH and Apat Lorca as with the families of other children and young people from Lorca who suffer some kind of intellectual disability or physical and not belonging to any association.From the City we firmly believe in the full and equal participation of these people in all areas, so we are committed to launch initiatives such as those planned for this year in order to achieve equal opportunities and support families of children with special needs ".

To obtain the accompanying card of a person with a disability or dependency, those interested should go to the Department of Family and Social Welfare, located at Alameda de Cervantes n ° 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and fill out an application with the information of the person with a disability and of the caregiver or family member of the same.

In addition, it will be necessary to provide the certificate or document certifying the degree of disability greater than 33% or dependency (grade I, II and III), the family book, the photocopy of the ID of the applicant for the accompanying card as well as the one of the person with disability.

In addition, it should be noted that, in case the accompanying person does not have a family relationship, either because they are volunteers or caregivers of different associations, the request must be accompanied by a responsible statement from a family member of the person with disability authorizing, that will be facilitated by the technicians of the Department.
