The Councilor for Health and Consumption in the City of Lorca, María del Carmen Ruiz, reported that the City Council will start up as soon as possible a new system to facilitate parking and transfer to users of Rafael Méndez hospital.
To this end, work has been carried out in the last few weeks on the free and open parking of the Francisco Artés Carrasco football stadium, with a schedule between 8 and 15 o'clock.
From this location, users will have a minibus that will take them to the hospital free of charge.
Ruiz Jódar has reported that this project is one of the objectives that is being advanced by the City Council in order to facilitate parking for those who have to travel to Rafael Méndez, given the parking difficulties that it presents practically since it was built.
From the Government Team we have analyzed the different alternatives, supervising one by one all the plots that surround the hospital, with the support of the municipal technicians, and, after discarding other alternatives due to their infeasibility, we consider that the most viable, effective option and practice for hospital users is precisely this.
The Councilor for Health has said that to launch this new service has moved a legal consultation in order to determine if it is necessary to wait for the resolution of the current contract with the company awarded the urban transport or if it would be possible to implement it immediate way
In any case, the decision has already been made by this Municipal Administration, having addressed this issue as the most recent example in the course of the last session of the Local Government Board, held last Thursday.
Ruiz Jódar has anticipated that Lorca, and in general all users of the hospital, will soon have a more convenient parking, convenient and better connected to the highway, besides being totally free, as will be the minibus that will remain throughout the morning, transferring to the hospital those who leave their vehicle in the parking lot of the Francisco Artés Carrasco stadium.
