Cefusa, livestock company of Grupo Fuertes, celebrates 50 years betting on animal welfare and environmental protection. Its activity focuses on the breeding and fattening of pigs, white and Iberian, and beef.
The company born in 1968 directly employs more than 530 people and its business generates more than 2,000 indirect jobs.
It has invested more than 83 million euros in the last five years for the modernization of its activity, implementing the latest scientific and technological advances in order to optimize its production system.
The company commemorates this anniversary with its presence with a large stand at the Sepor livestock, industrial and agrifood fair, where it shares its half-century of life with professionals and experts from the Spanish livestock sector.
Cefusa is well aware that it is an activity that continually demands a greater specialization, due to the demands of a market that not only cares about the presentation or hygiene of the product, but has been obtained through systems that respect aspects so crucial as the conservation of the environment and the own welfare of the animals, during their process of breeding and fattening.
The organization has livestock facilities and feed factories in several municipalities of southeastern Spain, equipped with the latest scientific and technological advances, capable of optimizing the production system as much as possible.
In this sense, and with the aim of reinforcing its business philosophy, Cefusa has just created a Chair in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena to promote the farm of the future, more sustainable and respectful with the environment.
Its objective is to lead research in this field to achieve a more sustainable livestock sector.
The company is certified in the Animal Welfare Standards program, as well as in the free-of-charge antibiotic treatment program (AFP Antibiotic Free Program).
In addition, it has a traceability certificate in the pig sector and regulation CE-178/2002.
It is a modern, sustainable and dynamic company that has opted for the implementation of a unique and global traceability system, based on the total quality of the production process, which not only guarantees the tracking of any batch of animals, at any stage, but also It also allows genetic, nutritional and health monitoring of the entire process.
