Mateos has presented this morning, in the office of the Single Window of the Region of Murcia, the first of which expected, is "the largest number of possible allegations" addressed to ADIF, to get the 4.3 kilometers of buried AVE .

For this, Mateos has called for the "direct" involvement of all political, social, economic agents, neighborhood movements and associations, and ordinary citizens, to join this campaign.

Mateos ensures that we are facing a "historic opportunity" to get the AVE to arrive, and do so in an underground way, saving "all obstacles" that arise.

Among them, in addition to the integration of the railway as it passes through the urban area along those 4.3 kilometers "unrenounceable", the problems that the current route would cause to the districts of Tercia, Marchena and La Hoya, in relation to several steps at a level that "yes or yes" must go "underground".

In this sense, Mateos ensures that these "logical and common sense" neighborhood claims are also going to be taken into account when improving the project.

In relation to the integration of the railway in the urban area of ​​the city, from the PSOE of Lorca consider that the approach and execution of the project in question with the construction of a new platform on the surface with double electrified access and access to the interior of the city of Lorca between the pk.

204 + 907 (Carretera RM-11) and 201 + 737,954 (San Diego) does not imply in any case the urban integration of this new railway infrastructure in the consolidated and programmed urban space of the city, since it would represent an insurmountable barrier that will prevent forever the natural urban growth towards the south of the districts of Apolonia, Avenida de Europa and San Diego, as it is foreseen in the current Municipal General Plan for Urban Planning, approved in 2003.

The project presented by the General Secretariat of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Development is insufficient, as it does not contemplate the integral burial of the railway tracks along the 4.3 kilometers of urbanized area included in the aforementioned Central Evacuation Round (section I ) and the exit of the RM-11 (Lorca-Águilas motorway), which historically has acted as a physical and psychological barrier, adopting the city a linear disposition that generates serious problems of internal functioning and environmental character.

In this sense, Mateos has insisted on the need to transmit to the General Secretariat of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Development that "the access and penetration project of the new railway infrastructure of the Murcia-Almeria Mediterranean Corridor in the city of Lorca has to be reconsidered. an action that supposes its urban integration in the consolidated and programmed city between the pk 204 + 907 and 200 + 607.

This rethinking, he insists, should consist of the burial of the railway corridor planned between the aforementioned pk.

In this way, he insists, the future urban, economic and social development of all the neighborhoods located north of Lorca is not impossible, otherwise, half the city will be mortgaged by the new platform on the surface with double electrified road planned in the Informative Study in the phase of public information.
