On Friday, February 1, Lorca will host the first regional pork porcine forum in the Guadalentín Valley, which plans to host more than 300 attendees.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Angel del Amor, today presented this day that aims to enhance the regional livestock sector.
During the meeting will discuss issues such as draft decree of management of pig farms, the use of antibiotics in animals, biosecurity, animal welfare, as well as the management and comprehensive valuation of slurry.
The Region of Murcia is one of the most important livestock regions of Spain, in which pig production stands out as the second province with the highest census.
"The regional government continues to support livestock and this year will rebate four sections of a rate that affects farmers for the provision of veterinary services, which means a reduction of 75 percent of the tax," said Del Amor. This will benefit to the 5,000 farms of the Region and are related to the movement certificate of animals, the authorization of means of transport, the payment for the book of the farm register and the bovine identification document.
