The Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, along with the Minister of Culture and Sports, José Guirao, visited today the sanctuary of Santa María la Real de las Huertas de Lorca, restored building within the Master Plan for the recovery of the cultural heritage of Lorca.
The Master Plan contemplates a total investment of more than 64 million euros and is an ambitious roadmap that has become a benchmark for good practices and an example of speed and efficiency.
It counted with the involvement of the three administrations (local, regional and national), together with the Bishopric, and has been awarded by important entities such as the Hispania Nostra Association and studied in national and international forums.
The counselor said that Lorca "has regained its splendor and its monumental wealth almost in its entirety, becoming an example of the recovery and enhancement of heritage value, as well as engine development of both cultural and economic tourism in the Region of Murcia" .
After the visit to the sanctuary, they went to the Paso Blanco and Paso Azul museums respectively.
