The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has demanded the "urgent" call of the Sectoral Council to enhance the Historic Center of Lorca, to strategically analyze the situation of the historic center and account for the efforts made in recent months.

Mateos has warned with concern that this forum, which was created at the proposal of the PSOE in the plenary session convened at the request of socialist councilors, to address the solutions that the Historic Center urges "takes more than a year without meeting, and that the regulation forced to have to convene this Sectoral Council, at least once every six months. "

Diego José Mateos has insisted that "we must urgently address the revitalization of the Historic District" for which, he says, "there is no room for delay".

"I am worried about the Historic District, and I am worried about all the potential that we have and that is being lost, due to the inability and ineffectiveness of those who, with their carelessness, are causing our Historic Center to fall to pieces".

"It is evident the lack of commitment of the Popular Party to the strategic recovery of the Historic District, because not only are they capable of breaking even their own regulations, like the one with which they marked to gather this Sectoral Council every semester, it is also In all this time, they have not been able to take forward one of the two instruments that, at the time, they were going to be basic and fundamental to revitalize the Historic District: I speak of PEPRICH and the Strategic Plan of Revitalization and Recovery of the area "

Diego José Mateos urges to convene this Sectorial Council to address, among other issues, the serious situation of traditional trade in the Historic District;

the set of abandoned lots, full of garbage and weeds, that disfigure the environment;

the situation in which fundamental projects remain, such as the Palace of Justice;

the problem recently denounced by the PSOE Lorca, relating to the partially closed parking in front of San Patricio;
