The City Council launches the School of Holy Week to Conciliate and Coeducar in which more than 35 children from Lorca can participate (20/03/2019)

The Councilors of Equality and Culture of the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez and Agustín Llamas, respects, have informed this morning that the Lorca Consistory will expand the offer of schools to conciliate and coeducate, which take place at Christmas and in summer , with the realization of an edition for the period of Holy Week.

Juan Francisco Martínez explained that "the program" Schools to Conciliate and Coeducar "aims to develop services in Lorca to reconcile work and private life, covering the needs of children aged 3 to 12 years, enrolled in the centers of Early Childhood and Primary Education of the municipality, these conciliation services will cover the needs of attention of boys and girls, in part of the non-school periods, while their fathers and mothers are working or receiving training for employment.

The Councilor for Equality has indicated that "this School of Holy Week will be held on Friday 12, Monday 15, Tuesday 16, Wednesday 17 and Monday 22 April from 7:45 to 15:15 pm It should be noted that the number of seats offered is 36, starting the deadline to submit applications today, March 20, and extending until next March 29. In the School of Holy Week to Conciliate and Coeducar will be developed workshops and varied activities, such as games and presentation dynamics;

workshop to elaborate a collage on the importance of coeducation, co-responsibility and reconciliation carried out by the children participating in the program;

workshop on women in the Holy Week of Lorca with the aim of making visible the contributions of women to the cultural heritage of our Holy Week;

workshop on responsibilities and shared tasks in the home and family;

storytelling workshop;

theater workshop to represent coeducational stories;

sewing workshop and costumes;

recycling workshop;

workshop for the expression of feelings, as well as popular games (handkerchief, hide-and-seek, English duckling, ...) and traditional sports such as football, basketball, involving both boys and girls, video library on topics related to equality and coeducation , in addition to an end of school party ".

This program is promoted by the Department of Equality of the City of Lorca and subsidized by the European Social Fund and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.
