Diego José Mateos proposes measures to solve the lack of parking areas in Alameda de Cervantes after the works (11/04/2019)

In addition, Mateos claims that the neighborhood complaints are answered after the works: the candidate for Mayor requests the remodeling of Azahar Street, the traffic light regulation facility at this junction and to solve the accessibility problems at the entrance to the residential Las Palmeras

The candidate for Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has proposed to subsidize the receipt of the contribution to those owners who decide to cede, temporarily, their unused lots as spaces for parking vehicles, as they already proposed to take advantage of abandoned lots in the Historic Center.

It is one of the proposals that the PSOE contemplates in its SOL project, with solutions for Lorca.

"This is a proposal that could encourage these owners to keep their lots open, while not deciding to build on them."

"Today, residents can park on these sites thanks to the goodwill of the owners of these, but the day they decide to close them would generate an even greater problem."

Mateos has announced this proposal in what has been called "ground zero" of the destruction of parking spaces, Alameda de Cervantes.

"The Alameda de Cervantes has been ground zero for the destruction of parking spaces."

With the works, remembered Mateos "the Popular Party has eliminated, from the Oval to San Fernando 200 parking spaces: 200 lost opportunities for neighbors and merchants at the time of finding parking to return to their homes after work, or to buy in the shops and stores of the Alameda de Cervantes ".

The candidate for mayor ensures that "it is time to solve the problems that the PP has generated with the works, starting with making Lorca a comfortable city to walk and also to move and park."

Mateos denounced the problems suffered by residents of Alameda de Cervantes, who for the elimination of places for the parking of vehicles "are forced to park on private lots that are in disuse."

That is why Mateos proposes to subsidize the receipt of the contribution to those owners who decide to make their plots available to residents as a place for public parking.

The socialist candidate also echoed again the neighborhood problems that were not solved by the PP during the execution of the works.

"It will not be because we did not warn from the PSOE."

Mateos recalled that there were numerous public complaints, even to promote a collection of signatures for the PP to address these problems that remained unresolved.

In particular, Mateos has referred to the need to remodel Azahar Street, install traffic light regulation at this junction, as well as to solve accessibility problems in the residential Las Palmeras.

He also referred to the need to increase the maintenance of green areas, especially the large trees that are in Alameda de Cervantes.
