The councilor of IU-Greens Lorca, Gloria Martin has denounced that the Official School of Languages of Lorca will not incorporate the offer of the German language for the 2019-20 academic year.
The Ministry of Education establishes as a requirement at least 70 applications to open two A1 level courses and offer this regional service to Lorca, Águilas, Alhama, Aledo, Totana, or Puerto Lumbreras, of which more than half have been completed.
Martín blamed the deficit of requests to the lack of publicity of the Ministry of Education, which should have offered this language especially in the Secondary Education Institutes of the region.
"Students and their families are not aware that German can be studied at the Official Language School after 14 years of age for a much more affordable price than that offered at private academies. after passing their exams, they obtain a certificate with official validity.
Gloria Martín lamented the lack of involvement of the Ministry of Education in the dissemination of a training offer that would improve the curriculum and ensure better job opportunities, not only students, but also adults who need German to complete their professional development.
For this reason, he asked that this publicity work be done and that the pre-registration period be extended to ensure that a fourth language can be studied in Lorca.
A work of information and dissemination in which the Town Hall of Lorca must also be involved.
"Otherwise, only Italian, English and French will continue to be taught at our School, while at the Murcia or Cartagena sites they already offer - in addition to these same languages and German- Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Japanese", Martin complained.
