The Lorca parish of Coy hosts a new edition of the Volunteer Field "Agenda 2030: the objectives of sustainable development" in which 20 young people will participate (12/07/2019)

It will take place from July 14 to 27, in the Casas Grandes Hostel, with the objective of "recovering the historic Coy International Labor Camp that had become a social, cultural and economic revulsive".

The Councilor for Youth of the City of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce, and Sergio Martínez, member of the training, leisure and leisure company El Molino, presented this morning a new edition of the Volunteer Field entitled "Agenda 2030: the objectives of sustainable development".

Ponce detailed that "the camp, which will take place in the shelter of Casa Grande located in the hamlet of Coy, will begin next Monday, June 14 and end on the 27th of the same month."

A project involving 20 young people, from different Autonomous Communities, aged between 15 and 17 years.

The Councilor for Youth stated that it is "a new edition of the volunteer field to continue with the energizing and social work that gave such good results last year." An activity within the context of the 2030 Agenda that puts into practice, of informative experience, the practice of the global action plan in favor of people, the planet and prosperity, based on the 17 objectives of sustainable development ".

Ponce Díaz specified that "among the actions that are going to be carried out during these days, the dissemination and transmission of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) through socio-cultural activities such as games, relaxation or of corporal expression, excursions and visits to Murcia, Lorca or Puerto Lumbreras, as well as thematic and animation parties ".

The Youth Edil explained that "the 2030 Agenda is a global plan of action in favor of people, the planet and prosperity, that will guide the decisions that we adopt governments and society during the next 15 years, and whose purposes are to strengthen the universal peace within a broader concept of freedom, eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, ensuring sustainable social and economic progress throughout the world, which is indispensable for sustainable development, in addition to guaranteeing the human rights of all people and achieve gender equity ".

José Ángel Ponce said that "the celebration of this Volunteer Camp aims to recover the historic Coy International Labor Camp that had become a social, cultural and economic revulsive and that was canceled by the previous municipal government. to make young participants aware of compliance with the SDGs and their dissemination to the immediate environment in order to achieve a first approach and a beginning of change in the closest context ".
