The Councilor for Local Development and Employment of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero has assessed the unemployment data in the municipality of Lorca corresponding to the month of October and published by the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF).

Specifically, last October it closed with 4,637 unemployed, unlike the 4,717 registered in September, resulting in a decrease of 80 people on the unemployment lists.

Casalduero stressed that "the annual unemployment rate also leaves us with positive data since in relation to October 2018 in Lorca there are 307 fewer unemployed registered".

The Councilor for Employment noted that "unemployment has fallen in the agriculture sector by 75 people, from 616 unemployed registered in September, to 541 with which October closed. In industry, 27 people found work during the past month, from 404 to 377 people without work Unemployment has also been reduced by 20 people in construction, from the 311 unemployed with which September closed, to the 291 with which October has done in this sector.

On the contrary, Casalduero has indicated that there has been a small increase in unemployment in the services sector in which 29 people lost their jobs, going from 3,066 in September, to 3,095 in October, "because it is a sector with more seasonality of contracts, many of them are subject to the season. "
