End of the XXIX Edition of the International Festival of Flamenco Cante "Ciudad del Sol" of Lorca (11/11/2019)

The First Prize, "Golden Sun", of the XXIX edition of the International Festival of Flamenco Cante "Ciudad del Sol" of Lorca 2019, endowed with 3,000 euros and diploma, has been won by José Antonio Romero Pérez, "El Perrito", of Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).

The winner played polo, malagueña with abandolao, mining and tangos.

The award ceremony was made by the Government Delegate in Murcia, Francisco Javier Jiménez Jiménez and the diploma, the Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos Molina.

The second prize, "Sol de Plata", has been this year for Antonio Ortega (Son) of Mairena del Alcor, province of Seville.

The prize consists of 2,000 euros and a diploma, awarded by the Deputy Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Morales González.

The diploma corresponded to deliver it to the Councilor for Culture of Lorca, María Ángeles Mazuecos.

The Cordoba singer chose for her repertoire of the final, Malaga with abandolao, petenera, taranta and debla-toná.

The two Accésit, awarded with 500 euros each, awarded to the two semifinalists who did not agree to the final, were Miguel Ángel Lara Soriano, "El Canario", a native of El Saucejo, and José Olmo Carrasco de El Cuervo. .

Meanwhile, José Olmo opted for granaina, bambera and seguiryas.

All the contestants were accompanied by the official guitarist of the festival, Antonio Fernández Garrido "El Torero".

The Guerra de Lorca Theater, traditional venue of the Contest, has completed its capacity, the three days of which the Festival consists, with fans coming from the most diverse backgrounds, who have been able to enjoy a few days of flamenco singing with a high artistic level , as well as other dance, singing and recital performances that have completed the program of this edition.

In addition to the authorities named, among others, attended by the Consistory of Lorca, José Ángel Ponce Díaz, Councilor for Celebrations, Isidro Abellán Chicano, Councilor for Finance and Isabel Casalduero Jódar, spokesman for his municipal group.

There was also the Regional Deputy, Magdalena Sánchez Blesa, who also offered attendees a recital of poems composed by herself.

Likewise, on behalf of the Superior Police Corps, the Chief Inspector Commissioner of Lorca, Juan Andrés Manzano Rodríguez, was present.

The president of the Peña Cultural Flamenca "Ciudad del Sol", Cayetano Padilla Ruiz, delivered a Antonio Ponce Cabrera commemorative plaque in recognition of his long and worthy career as a partner and member of the Festival Jury.

The event ended with the extraordinary performance of the well-known singer Pedro "El Granaino" accompanied on guitar by maestro Antonio de Patrocinio and in time by Joaquín González Cabrera and Luis Fernández Dorado.

The teacher, as usual, connected with the audience and made him enjoy with his masterful interpretation of flamenco singing.
