Renovation works on the Caravaca highway begin (14/11/2019)

The part of the Rambla de Los Arcos that does not include the regeneration project will be conditioned to alleviate the state of abandonment of so many years, a historical claim of the neighbors of the area.

The Councilor for Development of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, along with the General Director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, have visited this morning the improvement works on the Caravaca road.

Casalduero explained that it is "a very necessary action with which all the services in the area will be renewed, such as supply, sanitation and stormwater network, there will also be a renewal of sidewalks and asphalt pavement, as well as the bending of part of the rambla, some works that are being executed by the Regional Government under the European Investment Bank (EIB), with an execution period of 10 months, and a budget of 1,341,534.26 euros. "

"The main purpose of these works is to increase the safety of drivers and residents of the area in one of the main routes of communication to the A-7 from the urban area of ​​the city that is used, daily, by more than 4,600 vehicles ", affirmed the Councilwoman.

Casalduero Jódar recalled that with respect to the trees in the area that "it is time to reconcile the progress and improvement of our environment and the conservation of green spaces and therefore this Government Team of the City of Lorca in its commitment to The maintenance and creation of green spaces in our city, has made the decision to make a great effort and hire a specialized company for the replanting process so that the trees that are completely necessary are preserved in perfect condition and can be transplanted to other areas of the municipality. "
