The PP denounces that the lack of operability of the CHS continues to hinder the execution of projects of special importance for all Lorca's (18/11/2019)

The popular demand to the central government the urgent reform of the structure and operation of the CHS, and demand that instead of focusing all their work on fine and sanctioning the people, they already undertake the cleaning of ramblas, something they have not done in the last 3 years.

The Deputy Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City of Lorca, Ángel Meca, has urged the Ministry of Ecological Transition to undertake a thorough reform and modernization of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS), given the lack of operability that has been showing This entity during the last years, and that has been reflected in the paralysis of different projects in our municipality.

Ángel Meca has stated that we are all aware of the importance that CHS has for our Region, and in particular, for Lorca.

It is vitally important that the Confederation correctly fulfill the functions entrusted to it, and what is unpresentable is that the abandonment of work has become a common trend over the years.

From the PP we consider that it is time for the central government to update the composition of the CHS, and if it has to reinforce its structure to provide citizens with the service we need, to start doing.

They cannot give rise to the fact that this organism has become a true generator of problems, blockages and paralysis, and that Lorca now have the idea that it only serves to draw up complaints.

This is a reality to which we demand an immediate response to the central executive.

The Deputy Spokesman of the Popular Party in the City Council has said that in recent months we have accumulated examples of major projects that are being blocked or severed by the lack of CHS work.

There we have the case of the development of the Action Unit 23, in which we want the San Cristóbal Neighborhood Health Center to be built, but that the CHS prevents considering it as a flood zone.

Given this, the neighbors of the Neighborhood themselves wonder where the CHS was in the floods of 2012, or more recently, in the heavy rains of last September ?, because in both cases it was clear that in that area there was no problem in Absolute because of the rain.

It is clear that it is not enough to paint a map and wash your hands the rest of the time, they have to be on the ground and knowing the reality of each enclave.

Ángel Meca has also exposed the case of the road to the site of La Bodega, which the CHS prevents the use of neighbors, keeping blocked the step that has been prepared thanks to the construction of the new bridge over the Rambla de Biznaga, in the entrance to the nucleus of the district of Aguaderas.

Another example of lack of sensitivity and knowledge of the reality of the area.

The councilor of the PP has also referred to another incident in this regard that has appeared recently, such as the bending of the Rambla de Los Arcos, which the CHS also prevents executing, with the consequent damage to the neighbors of the road from Caravaca.

The common denominator in all these matters is the same: the Confederation refuses in the round, crosses its arms and does not want to know anything more about the subject.

From the PP we claim that the CHS act with diligence and common sense in an issue that does constitute a real problem for Lorca.

We are talking about the cleaning of public channels, boulevards and boulevards.

We have to regret that even today, and after the heavy rainfall in September, we accumulate more than 3 years without intervening in clearing and cleaning of ramblas.

In fact, the problem in the upper section of the Guadalentín riverbed is tremendous.

Anyone who comes to see it is going to take their hands to the head, because the accumulation of weeds, garbage and debris is embarrassing.

Ángel Meca has echoed, in this regard, the most recent statements in this regard made by Professor Antonio Gil Olcina, at the conference held last week in the Community of Irrigators, where he pointed out that the cleaning of the channels in the so-called "Rambla rivers" is a vital necessity to avoid problems in the face of episodes of heavy rainfall.

In fact, he gave as a concrete example the accumulations of reeds and materials that we could see in the Segura River during the DANA last September.
