IU-Verdes-Lorca demands the immediate stoppage of the works in a cebadero that contains asbestos (22/01/2020)

The councilor of this training, Gloria Martín, has contacted the Town Planning Councilor who has asked me to move this morning to City Council technicians to paralyze the works in case, as it seems, it does not have all the relevant licenses

The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, has demanded the immediate stoppage of the works that are being carried out in a fat farm located in the Marchena county council, next to the road to La Condomina.

Thanks to the neighborhood complaints, Martín has been aware that large uralite plates are being removed in works that have a simple excavator, when these types of procedures must be carried out by a company approved for management and withdrawal of asbestos given the danger of this material.

Martín has contacted the Town Planning Councilor, José Luis Ruiz Guillén, who has asked that he move this morning to City Council technicians to paralyze the works in case, as it seems, it does not have all the licenses relevant.

Several citizens have also alerted the Civil Protection Service of the Civil Guard (SEPRONA) so that their agents can record these facts.

However, at this time they have not yet been able to appear in the place.

Instead, a couple from the Civil Guard has come, without competencies as explained to the neighbors in matters of Environment.

The councilwoman of IU-Verdes has moved the "serious concern" of the neighbors that the area before the "seemingly stealthy and accelerated" work to condition an operation that "had been abandoned for years."

In that sense, he has lamented that "the pig gold fever" is leading to the recovery of this type of exploitation which leads to new problems of living in the garden of Lorca for its proximity to homes.

"Now they will try to expand their capacity when neighbors are accustomed to sharing space with family-type farms but not with macrocebaderos of thousands of heads."

In this regard, Martín has demanded that the possible expiration of the activity license of this exploitation be verified and that, in the case of requesting a new one, the City Council requires compliance with the "new legal framework" applicable to this sector, in addition to sanction those activities that may have been carried out without a license.
