In the afternoon of yesterday and in the Plaza that bears his name in the Alamedas, the Lorquina Socialist Association paid a simple tribute to the last Mayor of the Republic, Fernando Chuecos Reinaldos, on the 80th anniversary of his execution at the tapia of the cemetery of San Clemente.
The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Association, Diego José Mateos, who closed the speeches.
The teacher, Juan Antonio Fernández who glossed the biography of Chuecos, the writer Pedro Guerrero who recited a fragment of the poetry that Eliodoro Puche dedicated to the Socialist Mayor, of the Secretary of Historical Memory of the Regional Executive Commission of the PSRM-PSOE, Tońi Mendez Espejo and members of the family of the honoree.
At the end of the interventions, Mateos and the family of Fernando Chuecos placed a center of red roses next to the plaque that gives name to the place ..
Mateos stressed in his speech that "in these moments of political tension it is up to the Socialists to put the serenity that 140 years of history give to remember that in democracy we all fit".
