The Popular Party proposes to create decentralized points of youth information in secondary schools, Language School and Vocational Training (03/02/2020)

This resource allows the information, activities and resources offered by public and private administrations to be made available to students, with the young people themselves being responsible for channeling these possibilities.

The Councilor for Youth in the City of Lorca for the Popular Party, Pedro Mondéjar, has proposed this morning the creation of Decentralized Points of Youth Information in secondary education centers, Language School and Vocational Training centers.

These are spaces designed by the students themselves through a public contest, and managed by themselves.

We are talking about a resource that allows the information, activities and resources offered by the different administrations and even from the private sphere to be made available to students, with the students themselves being responsible for selecting and prioritizing the information that is made Reach the young.

It is also intended that resources and activities generated by young people can be transferred to administrations, for example, through the Informajoven, and be in turn disseminated to other places and educational centers, as well as regularly receive the specific demands of young people .

Another of the objectives pursued is to respond to the legal obligation of local Corporations to provide the most extensive information about their activity and the participation of all citizens in local life, established in art.

69 of the Regulatory Law of Local Regime Bases.

The proposal we make from the Popular Party of Lorca contemplates the creation of the contest for the design of the youth information point in the educational centers.

Then the educational centers by the City of Lorca would be provided with the winning design, proceeding to create the commissions of students that maintain them.

In this way we would be able to set up the information points in the centers, maintaining a direct relationship between the Informajoven de los Lorca and the teams responsible for each educational center.

The Youth Information Points are part of what should be a project of informative decentralization of the Youth Service, which is already being done in other municipalities of our Region, and that pursues a double objective: to bring information, services and resources to the collective youth and gather information on the activities organized and created by the youth themselves.

For this, we would also count on the collaboration of the educational centers that will act as "mediators", between the administrations and the teams responsible for young people in each center.

The centers should only make available to young people a central or visible space in their entrances, help in the evaluation of this service, encourage students to participate in said project, offer a place to store the exhibited historical material in the youth information point, as well as include such activity in the Annual General Programming (PGA) and designate a teacher of the center to perform the work of tutor of the Young Information Point team, as support and monitoring of the operation of said team.

Students who belong to the Youth Information Point team must keep that point, having it permanently updated and orderly, coordinate with those responsible for the Informajoven, help young people in the center know about the existence of the Youth Information Points and their operation, send the proposals, doubts and activities most valued by said team of students to those responsible for the Informajoven for their response, knowledge and dissemination, attend the training that derives from this responsibility for its better functioning, as well as assist in the evaluation of said municipal service .

In turn, the City of Lorca would provide the educational centers and teams responsible for the Youth Information Point with all the necessary information material, train the teams for the proper performance of said activity, and be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Youth Information Points.

The decentralization of the Youth Information Points tries to achieve:

The improvement of social integration and participation of young people in the programs aimed at them, through information, training and participation in youth activities.

Knowing the concerns of youth, so that both existing resources and those created by them, do so according to their needs and preferences, in a way that helps them develop in an integral way.

Consolidate the youth information point as a service open to all youth, as well as all those groups sensitized and linked to the segments of the youth population.

Support and coordinate effectively the expectations and projects of young people, with the resources provided from the municipality, and always respecting youth leadership.

Bring young people closer to the information prepared regularly by the Informajoven de Lorca center.

To achieve a greater dynamism and social participation of the youth of the municipality, to promote their presence in all areas that concern youth.

Raise awareness among young people on the issue of social participation and give them the opportunity to access both standardized resources and those offered from our youth information point.
