The Government delegate believes that the coordination of all Security Forces and Bodies will increase security to guarantee women the free exercise of their rights and freedoms

The delegate of the Government, Francisco Jiménez, has presided this morning the act of signing the agreement whereby the City of Lorca joins the VIOGEN system and makes this town the first in the Region in which the three security forces coordinate and share efforts and resources in the protection of victims of gender violence.
Thus, in an act held at the town hall, the mayor of the city, Diego José Mateos, representing the Local Police, the Chief of Police, Alfonso Navarro, and the colonel of the 5th Civil Guard Zone, Jesús Arribas They have signed the accession protocol.
The VioGen protocol, launched by the Ministry of Interior, allows the collaboration and coordination of actions of the public institutions competent in the field of gender violence, integrating the information of the cases to monitor and protect women and minors victims , make a prediction of the risk and adopt the necessary preventive measures to avoid actions that could jeopardize their integrity, in compliance with the judicial decisions issued to guarantee their safety.
"These actions highlight the commitment of the Government of Spain in its determined struggle to end sexist violence, strengthening those mechanisms that provide effectiveness through collaboration, coordination, agility, information and operability in the protection of victims," ​​said Jimenez After signing this protocol.
In this way, the security forces will share information and resources and establish basic criteria for collaboration and coordination that will optimize human and material resources to ensure effective compliance with the judgments issued to ensure the safety of victims of gender-based violence. .
The Government delegate considers it essential to achieve these objectives the incorporation of Local Police in his capacity as a specialized body in the municipality, which, in addition to increasing the number of troops destined to protect the victims, offers knowledge and proximity to the population, by what allows him to contribute to the fight against the violence of gender a very valuable information and operability.
Through this protocol, a network is created for the rapid, comprehensive and effective monitoring and protection of women and minors victims of gender-based violence in which different institutions competent in the safety of victims are integrated, facilitating the transmission of the necessary information for the monitoring of protection measures, the situation of the victims and the circumstances of the aggressor.
In this regard, Jiménez recalled that there are currently 152 women victims of gender violence and 158 active cases of monitoring and protection in Lorca.
Since 2007 when the VioGen system was launched in Spain, 1,390 cases were activated, and 1,269 women victims of sexist violence.
For his part, the mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has shown that the firm, in addition to complying with the plenary agreement last November, reinforces and demonstrates, once again, the commitment of this City Council to with victims of gender violence and, therefore, incorporates its Local Police Corps into the VioGen System, to improve the effectiveness of collaboration and ensure the integral nature of protection within the municipality.
Among the measures that are being implemented are the creation of a single police coordination center for the reception of orders for the protection of victims of gender-based violence, the establishment of a system of good practices that avoid aggravating the status of the victims or Access by local police officers to the necessary VioGen resources to carry out their protection work in the most efficient way.

With the signing of this protocol, there are already 13 municipalities in the Region of Murcia that join the VioGen System, with the consequent reinforcement of Security Forces and Bodies, Alhama de Murcia, Blanca, Bullas, Calasparra, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín , Moratalla, Puerto Lumbreras, Santomera, Totana, Yecla, Abarán and Lorca.
