The councilor of the United Left-Greens, Gloria Martín, today asked the Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, who directly holds the management skills after the earthquakes, to provide information to residents immersed in the process of justifying the aid for the repair of their homes.

Martín recalled that last January 25 the deadline for residents to submit the reports that have served to simplify the justification procedure under laws 8/2018 and 8/2019, of aid from Lorca, ended.

In theory, the Ministry of Development of the Region of Murcia should now proceed to a random check of 20% of the documentation submitted by those affected, the rest of the files being archived.

The IU councilor has asked Mateos for information on how long this process can take, considering that many of those affected have been living "in uncertainty" for more than a year and a half.

"We understand that it is normal for the City Council to offer some information on the deadlines given by the Ministry to close this entire process and the way in which the affected neighbors will be notified," said Martin.

In addition, the mayor recalled that there are several specific files that her training has repeatedly requested to be reviewed by the Joint Commission.

These are refunds of undue income or problems with the deadline for the execution of the works for reasons more than justified that, for Martin, "deserve a response from the administrations involved in the management of the aid."

Martín has also asked Mateos to inform the neighbors about the negotiations that he must be carrying out with the Government of Spain so that he can forgive his share of the late payment interest generated as the autonomous community has already done.
