The Councilor for Rural Development in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Ángel Meca, has demanded that the current local government immediately unlock the completion of the repair and expansion of power lines in the streets La Fábrica, Casanova, Trasvase y New, all of them located in the Almendricos deputation.
If the problem is that they do not like the location of the transformer, that they choose another one, but that they do not condemn all the affected families to be months and months with the uncertainty of being cut off in the electricity supply.

Ángel Meca has explained that we are talking about a municipal investment that is possible thanks to the financing of the Regional Government under the Neighborhood and District Plan.
Because of the ineffectiveness and passivity of the current local government, dozens of families still cannot count on the final supply of electricity.

We must remember that this action was definitely awarded a year ago for an amount of 83,000 euros, including the implementation of a new electric transformer to provide these homes with low voltage line.
We are talking about the execution of underground pipelines for electric power distribution networks in this widening area of ​​Almendricos, classified as Unconsolidated Urban Land, which are currently fed from the existing aerial networks in the area on a temporary basis with temporary supply .
This project is fully executed with the exception of the aforementioned electrical equipment, which prevents affected families from contracting the final electricity supply and abandoning the provisional contract they maintain for this supply, and on which they had received successive threats cutting
The current situation is that, after losing the agreement that we have made, the current local government has not moved to find a solution in this regard.
On May 9, we sent Iberdrola the proposal for a collaboration agreement, which also included the request to the electricity company to extend the temporary supply of work without the need to provide new documentation.
We are talking about a team that barely occupies a space of 11 m2 and is not a problem at all for any nearby property.
In fact, we find much more bulky equipment in blocks of homes, schools, institutes, health centers ... since they do not involve any inconvenience, but, on the contrary, they offer a service that in this case would correct a situation that the neighbors have been suffering for several years .
It is not worth, therefore, the excuse that it would be near an educational center, since this local government knows perfectly that the only line of children that exists is going to move to a newly built building annexed to the primary school of the district .
