Chechu Muñoz, spokesman for the youth organization linked to Izquierda Unida, recalled that the PSOE undertook an election campaign to create new study halls and that, however, in the investment chapter of its failed budget there was no heading for that purpose

The spokesman for Izquierda Joven Lorca, Chechu Muñoz, has called for the creation of a library with a study room that accommodates students in the neighborhoods of La Viña, San José and Alfonso X.

As Muñoz explained, it is a "historical claim" of the students of these neighborhoods, who have never had a study room nearby and have to move to the center to study.

"We do not understand why there is none from the Oval to San Antonio while in the center there are two just 400 meters away."

Chechu Muñoz has remarked that "the youth of these neighborhoods also study, and we have the right to have a nearby study room, as do those who reside in the city center."

In that sense, he also recalled the needs in this area of ​​the youth of districts for which from the United Left also have been requested 24-hour study rooms, similar to the one that works in El Esparragal de Puerto Lumbreras and that "do not need a large investment".

The spokesman of IU Joven wanted to thank the association of neighbors of Alfonso X for the assignment of a room so that the youth of these neighborhoods have a place to study, although, in his opinion, "it is not enough" since the space is "very small" and during exam time "we can't all".

In addition it does not have internet either since the city council "has never facilitated its installation".

Likewise, Muñoz wanted to remind the PSOE that "in an election campaign they committed themselves to creating study rooms, and I can't think of a better place to do it than in the one we propose, since 18,000 people live in these neighborhoods, of which a large percentage are students. "

In this regard, he recalled that the budgets of PSOE and C's, which were not finally approved in plenary, "did not have any item in the investment chapter aimed at expanding the municipal library network."

In addition, the one destined to diverse expenses in this type of infrastructure was reduced by 4.29%.
