The representatives of the PP on the Board of Directors have abstained at all points of the agenda of the meeting held this morning as a "warning signal" to the current government, which had not agreed on any matter with the municipal groups
The Councilor delegate of Limusa in the City of Lorca by the Popular Party, Juan Miguel Bayonas, has informed that the PP has warned the current mayor that we reject any other option for urban transport that is not the renewal of the buses they provide service and its replacement with new vehicles, which is what was planned from the beginning by the Municipal Consistory and the municipal government of the PP.
They have to fulfill the commitment that exists with Lorca, because now we are not going to allow them to proceed with the hiring or extension of second-hand vehicles for urban transport, that is not what we had guaranteed Lorca.
Juan Miguel Bayonas explained that in the course of the Limusa Board of Directors meeting, which was held this morning, we have made it clear that the current local government has no free way to do whatever it pleases, but that, just On the contrary, it must comply with the forecasts set and with the established calendar.
We are obliged to remind you that you do not govern with an absolute majority, and that you have to be able to sit down and negotiate the affairs of Limusa, because they already accumulate negative backgrounds such as the inability to approve your own municipal budget.
They cannot lose sight of the fact that they were not able to appoint a CEO for Limusa precisely because they did not even sit down to negotiate it.
From the PP, due to political responsibility, we have not supported the proposal to extend the rental of second-hand buses for 8 months.
We have decided to abstain as a gesture of goodwill towards the current local government, which prefers to continue another 8 months with these old buses, with the consequent damage to all Lorca.
Logically we cannot support this, because urban transport users will accumulate 16 months without the renewal of the bus fleet.
Lorca have to know that not even one euro has been planned in the Limusa budget to buy new vehicles.
In fact, we have to anticipate that we are going to closely monitor this issue, since over many years we had to walk a very complicated path to try to improve this service, which, because of an ominous award made precisely by the PSOE, we had to rescue and assume directly from the City Council.
Now we are not going to tolerate going backwards, and we demand that they comply with Lorca, and with what they claimed until a few months ago: new buses for Lorca urban transport.
Juan Miguel Bayonas has also indicated that the PP has chosen to abstain in all the points that have been addressed in the board of directors this morning.
This is a decision that we have considered in depth, since we do not agree with the direction that the current political direction of the company has undertaken.
We hope that attitudes change and that what is planned and committed is fulfilled.
It is a touch of attention to the current mayor to correct certain ways and be aware that he has to agree on the issues.
