The opening ceremony will take place at 20 hours in the building of the old Baker's Poster and that, in its agenda, will include exhibitions, demonstrations of live crafts, and events such as workshops, courses and promotion of typical Lorca products.
The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Crafts, Francisco Morales, has presented, this morning, together with the Councilor for Culture, María Ángeles Mazuecos and the president of 'Artelor', José Ortuño, the opening ceremony of the House of Craftsman that will take place on next Tuesday, February 11, at 8 p.m.
The mayor of Artesanía recalled that "the House of the Craftsman is located in the emblematic building of the old Baker's Poster, located in the Plaza del Caño next to the courts. For its inauguration, the president of the regional government will be assisted, Fernando López Miras, the Minister of Business and Industry, Ana Martínez Vidal, the Mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos and the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Handicrafts, Francisco Morales, among other authorities. "
Francisco Morales stressed that "the launch of this House-Workshop marks a milestone in the Department of Handicrafts and for the entire municipality of Lorca. It is a space that will open in the morning and afternoon and will be a revulsive for Lorca's handicrafts. It was created with the purpose of providing artisans with a meeting place where they can make their demonstrations of live crafts, perform rotating exhibitions and attractive events such as courses, workshops, awards and showcase typical products of Lorca. "
Morales has stressed "the importance that this municipal installation will have, which will be added to the Regional Craft Center, generating an artisan axis that we want to extend and expand throughout the municipality. In addition, Lorca has the privilege of having FERAMUR, Feria de Handicrafts of the Region of Murcia, which makes us an artisan reference, and to which we must add the distinction of Lorca as “artisan municipality.†Among its functions, not only is the mere exhibition and sale of artisan products, but also aims to go further there, conserving artisan traditions and perpetuating them so that these manual crafts are not lost. "
It is important to highlight the promotion of the Lorca products that will be carried out in these facilities, such as the promotion of tourism and commercial tourist routes to encourage the trade of local artisan products;
awareness raising actions to increase the consumption of local artisan products, with the importance that it represents for the regional economies;
support for regional crafts as a specific distinctive element of know-how and the transmission from generation to generation of artisan crafts;
promotion of association and inter-company cooperation;
creation of an advisory department for the artisans of Lorca and the creation of a Handicraft School, aimed at the acquisition and improvement of professional skills and qualifications through workshops and training courses.
In addition, Morales has reported that "we are facing an ambitious project that not only seeks to maintain our traditions; we also want it to boost the identification, safety, quality, innovation and design of artisan products. This unique building will be a guard area and custody of artisan pieces or objects of cultural, historical and artistic interest, and in it we will create a documentary fund on handicrafts. As the Lorcans can verify, we have sought it to be a global project that contemplates all the edges in favor of Lorca's crafts " .
From the Department of Crafts have detailed that an open day will be held with guided tours on February 13, 14 and 15, with morning hours from 10 am to 2 pm and afternoon from 5 pm to 8 pm.
On February 13 we can enjoy a concert by the Municipal Music Band at 8.30 pm.
During the opening day, attendees can enjoy live music and a dance.
