The Library Network starts up again the initiative 'Blind date with reading', on the occasion of Valentine's Day (11/02/2020)

The mayor of Education, Antonia Pérez, stressed that it is "a fun and daring proposal for our users, in which the book and its reader must meet and spend a wonderful evening together or whatever arises."

The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has reported an activity launched by the Network of Libraries of Lorca under the title 'Blind Date With Reading', on the occasion of February 14, Valentine's Day .

The mayor of Education explained that as has been done in previous years, from the Network of Libraries of Lorca is celebrated on February 14 with the activity 'A blind date with a romantic book', a fun and daring proposal for readers , in which the book and its reader must meet and spend a wonderful evening together ... or whatever arises. "

Pérez stressed that "in this edition the Library has made a selection of books that we cannot remain without reading and that we will surely fall in love with" and has been convinced that "this activity will once again be widely accepted among users of the Pilar Barnés Library ".

During this week the books can be found in the Adult Library 'Pilar Barnés', where they are packaged and decorated for the occasion.

They are surprise books that will not be discovered until the reader borrows it.

Each of the copies has a phrase that will give clues to the reading that is taken home, for example: "This is a story of revenge and hatred, of unleashed passions and desperate loves that go beyond death and make she one of the most unique and attractive works of all time ".

Pérez Segura has indicated that "it is basically an approach to the different books proposed without knowing neither the content nor the title of the same. From the Library users are invited to participate in this activity whose objective is to try to eradicate the readers preconceived ideas and prejudices. "

This initiative is inspired by the "Blind Date with a Book" project carried out by a public library in Los Angeles (USA), where it was a real success.
