Infant students of the Sacred Heart school know how to act in an emergency on the day organized on the occasion of the European Day 112 that is celebrated today, February 11 (11/02/2020)

The mayor of Emergencies of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero, highlights "the importance of children knowing what to do in these situations" and highlighted "the attitude of a child under 11 who saved the life of his mother, a few days ago, in Madrid thanks to the call he made to the Single Emergency Telephone. "

The Councilors of Emergency and Education of the City of Lorca, Isabel Casalduero and Antonia Pérez, respectively, have visited, this morning, the facilities of the Sacred Heart School in the town where Civil Protection volunteers are celebrating the 'European Day of 112' .

The mayor of Emergencies has explained that "within its program of training activities in schools, the Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Service is commemorating this European day of 112 with a training activity aimed at children, specifically students of the school Sacred Heart, making it coincide with the celebration of this day so marked for the professionals and volunteers of 112 ".

Isabel Casalduero has detailed that "from 9:15 this morning until 13:50 hours, all students of 3, 4 and 5 years of this school are participating in this activity in which Civil Protection volunteers are showing how 112 works, they are watching videos and singing songs about how to do cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. They are also learning to put a person in the lateral security posture. "

Casalduero Jódar recalled the importance of these types of initiatives when it comes to the little ones to know what to do in an emergency, how to act and where to go.

Without going any further, a few days ago in Madrid, an 11-year-old boy saved the life of his mother who had fainted, after with great poise and maturity he called the Emergency Telephone, at 112, to notify the services sanitary

Casalduero added that "emergency professionals have already highlighted the behavior of the child himself, who faced a situation of emotional crisis, and the usefulness of a telephone that both adults and children can use."

For its part, the mayor of Education recalled "the importance of including this type of subject in the curricular planning of our children, because it has become clear again, what to know what to do and how to act in an emergency case, and has stressed that "our little ones are like sponges when it comes to learning and acquiring new knowledge so it is ideal for these concepts and subjects to be acquired from an early age."

It should be noted that today, February 11, is a date set by the European Union to bring emergency services to citizens through dissemination and dissemination sessions in order to build safer and more resilient societies.
