The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has positively valued the construction project of a biomethane plant in the vicinity of Barranco Hondo.
Mateos explained that "the City of Lorca welcomes the project for the installation of a biomethane plant in our municipality, a project that comes to solve, in part, the problems of waste management and slurry of pig farms and others installations".
The First Edil has assured that "from the City Council of Lorca we are going to put all the facilities so that this plant can be implanted in our municipal term facilitating the necessary location so that the project is attractive and profitable for the company and that therefore the whole Region Guadalentín can benefit from this industry. "
In addition, Diego José Mateos stressed that "this project is also an important step to fight against climate change, as well as the fulfillment of the environmental management requirements of the waste we need in Lorca and in the rest of the region."
