"We support the approach of the neighbors, and reject any other possibility"

The President of the Popular Party of Lorca and Spokesman of the PP in the City Council, Fulgencio Gil, announced this morning that this political formation has already designated all of its representatives who will be part of the Neighborhood Boards.

This is a wide list of people from the PP that will be integrated into these entities of municipal responsibility in each and every one of the neighborhoods and districts that make up our municipal district, as representatives of the most voted list in the last local elections.

We are talking about a total of 49 boards and 5 districts, which make up 38 districts and 11 neighborhoods.

Fulgencio Gil has indicated that these are very representative people of each district or neighborhood, fully integrated into multiple neighborhood groups, who are already willing to work to improve the quality of life of their neighbors.

We must point out that for the designation of these people we have found a warm welcome from the citizens, who continue to expose us the same reality as in the different meetings with groups and associations of various kinds that we have been maintaining during the last months: this Government does not work.

We are finding the same complaint everywhere, with arguments that seem traced, reflecting widespread discontent.

People are frustrated and feel cheated, and that is why they want the Neighborhood Boards to be formed as soon as possible so that they can directly take sides in the decisions that have to do with their neighborhoods or districts.

The President of the PP of Lorca has indicated that the Lorca transmit their anger in particular for the breach of the promise "star" of the current mayor, which was the implementation of the Neighborhood Boards on January 1 of this year, something that was totally feasible, but that the current local government is delaying sheltering in excuses and vaguenesses.

We, like the neighbors, want this to be blocked no more, and in fact we must remember that one of the main reasons that forced us to reject the proposal that the PSOE and Citizens put on the table for municipal budgets was that they contemplated the economic item that they had committed to reserve in the accounts of the City Council for the Neighborhood Boards.

We have to remember that these budgets, that the current government has not been able to move forward because they do not know how to negotiate with anyone and have been left alone, they had to have included just over 1.5 million euros, just as it had been agreed upon a proposal by the Popular Party through a motion raised to the Plenary Session of the City Council in its session corresponding to the month of November, but they have mocked this agreement, like so many things.

The Spokesman of the Popular Group in the City Council has indicated that Citizens and PSOE are breaching even the supposed pact that underpins the current local government, since they promised to designate the pediatric mayors through "democratic appointments", something they are not doing either.

And let's not talk about the hypothetical "pilot experience" they said they were going to do somewhere, constituting a single Neighborhood Board, the one they chose, as if the neighborhood participation was a real estate development.

The neighbors are telling us that the Neighborhood Boards have to be constituted now and at the same time, and not only where the current mayor seems appropriate.

We, from the Popular Party, support the approach that the neighbors transfer to us, and we reject any other possibility that is not the one that the lorquinos themselves want.

Fulgencio Gil has stated that the Lorca people are demanding today more strongly than ever the constitution of the Neighborhood Boards with the aim of deciding directly on the operation of the sites where they reside, but clash with the reality that Citizens and PSOE have blocked the development of Citizen Participation policies in our municipality because they do not finish seeing it clearly, and we do not want to think that after all that they have promised and criticized, they now pretend that we all forget their unfulfilled declarations and commitments.
