About 350 First and Second Primary schoolchildren from Casas del Niño, Ana Caicedo, San Francisco de Asís, Villaespesa and Virgen de las Huertas schools will chat with the writer of their new book 'The Foolish Desire to be a Cat'.

The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, has announced the start of the 'Meetings with Author' organized by the Municipal Library Network.
Pérez explained that "tomorrow, February 18, a new edition of the traditional activity organized by the Municipal Library Network in collaboration with the Editorial SM, 'Meetings with Author', will begin, which will be inaugurated by Ricardo Gómez".
The Edil has detailed that "the writer will talk with about 350 students of First and Second Primary Education of the schools Casa del Niño, Ana Caicedo, San Francisco de Asís, Villaespesa and Virgen de las Huertas about his new book, 'The desire foolish to have a cat ', in the Infantile and Juvenile Library of our municipality, located in the third plant of the Cultural Center Mayor José María Campoy ".
Pérez Segura said that "it is a fantastic initiative by which children and adults can meet writers of great national importance who come to Lorca to talk not only about their books but about the art of literature or the importance of reading ".
The Councilor noted that "Ricardo Gómez Gil was born in a town in Segovia in February 1954 and, until he decided on writing, worked as a math teacher. His work has been deserving of several awards such as the Juan Rulfo Prize- Unión Latina (1996), Ignacio Aldecoa de Cuento Award (1997 and 1998), Ciudad de Mula Award (1998), Alandar Prize for Youth Literature (2003), El Barco de Vapor Children's Literature Award (2006), Cervantes Chico Award for the set of his work (2006), as well as the 2010 Gran Angular Youth Literature Award, as well as various accésits and mentions as a finalist ".
Antonia Pérez has announced that "the 'Meetings with Author' program will be held until April and the next attendees will be Andrés Guerrero, on February 24 and 25, and the former Minister of Culture Ángeles González Sinde, on April 26 February".
