The President of the Popular Party of Lorca and Spokesman of the PP in the City Council, Fulgencio Gil, has proposed the integral rehabilitation of the High Street and the Cabezo de Las Palas.
Fulgencio Gil has indicated that we are talking about an emblematic and unique enclave of our historic center;
a street linked to our tradition and imaginary, for its special characteristics, halfway between the Sliding and the high districts, leading to the Place de la Concorde and the monumental environment of San Francisco.
From the PP they have indicated that it would be interesting to value not only the street, in terms of its integral remodeling and improvement of its accessibility, but also in the improvement of the entire environment.
It is an area that has remained incommunicado, and we want it to stop being an isolated solar grouper, full of bushes and garbage, and it can become, in addition to a communicating thread between streets, in a green and playful space furnished with benches, vertical gardens and playground area.
In this way, if we manage to create new attractive spaces in the old town, we will give a vital boost to the area and encourage young people to want to come to live in traditional streets that, therefore, already have their own appeal. .
The Cabezo Las Palas, owned by the City of Lorca, aspires to be configured as a new urban space, open to all citizens, and a multipurpose resource for Lorca in our historic center.
It could implant a tree of native species, children's games, recreation and recreation areas, as well as gerontogimnasia devices, in addition to a pergola that allows the development of cultural activities taking advantage of the good weather of the Mediterranean area in which we live.

Fulgencio Gil has considered that the municipality of Lorca could include the financing of this urban intervention for the improvement of the street and its environment under the casualties of the European Investment Bank (EIB), or failing that, we have the possibility of That is included by the Municipal Consistory in the Investment Plan of the historic center, enabling the corresponding item.
