The exceptional situation generated by the Covid-19 epidemic not only requires the adoption of exceptional measures, such as those derived from the imposition of the Alarm State, it is a mistake to limit actions solely to the fight against the pandemic.

We must put all the effort and means necessary so that the slowdown in economic activity and the foreseeable crisis that will shake the welfare state when the health crisis passes, are cushioned and we can minimize the economic losses of workers, SMEs, businesses and companies.

It is necessary to gather data that allows us to foresee the economic effects of the pandemic in the municipality and help us make decisions when the time comes.

It is necessary to anticipate the facts and act accordingly

We have proposed to the government team, the creation of a work team, with transversal competences, that bases its activity on two fundamental fields to face this emergency situation with the maximum guarantees.

FIRST: It is necessary to be truthfully aware of the scope of the situation, analyzing the economic impact on the municipality, the jobs that will be lost, the losses that small businesses and companies must assume, as well as their real needs to overcome the situation.

What percentage of the population will need help from the administration, what kind of help (first need, rent, payment of taxes ...) and the most effective way to apply it.

SECOND: Assuming functions in terms of advice and mediation between the different administrations, for workers, self-employed, SMEs when requesting and being recipients of aid that the State enables for them.

Regardless of this, we are also going to ask the government team to make an effort to add support and seek the collaboration of all the municipal groups with representation in plenary, so it is necessary to create a permanent information commission, in which the all the municipal groups of the actions carried out and their contributions are collected.
