The results of the different samplings, as well as the participating municipalities, can be consulted on the website prepared for this purpose by those responsible for the regional tiger mosquito surveillance plan: https://www.um.es/grzba/Vigilancia_Mosquito_Tigre/ ".The traps consist of a black container with water inside, in which a semi-submerged tablet is inserted, to which rabbit feed is added to attract the female mosquito to lay eggs.

Traps should be placed in the shade, preferably under vegetation and no more than 1.5 m high.

The cheat sheets are collected every 15 days for study, being replaced by new ones.It should be remembered that EDIT measures (Eliminate Desiccate Prevent Treat) must be applied to decrease tiger mosquito populations, as well as the use of repellents, especially on the legs, since the tiger mosquito usually bites in areas of the body closest to the ground , although it itches the whole body to children; maintain good body hygiene, as sweat and strong odors attract them.

Also avoid sweet perfumes; putting mosquito nets on windows and electrical appliances against insects; avoid containers that can accumulate water, such as buckets or drums, tires; remove accumulated water in objects or empty it weekly: vases, ashtrays, flower pot dishes, plastic swimming pools, animal troughs; close the water tanks with a cover or mosquito net; maintain chlorine levels in your pool;put ornamental fish in your pond or garden fountain as they eat the larvae; regularly cleaning roof gutters and terraces; and regulate the drip irrigation so that there are no puddles. The mayor of Health has recommended "in the private sphere to increase citizen awareness measures, for this reason the City Council offers informative talks to neighboring communities or other associative entities and asks for citizen collaboration to detect possible sources and eliminate hatcheries."Finally, José Ángel Ponce has insisted that "with the arrival of high temperatures, in collaboration with other entities and administrations, we will work to reduce the proliferation of the tiger mosquito.

In Spain it was detected for the first time in Catalonia in 2004 and since then it has progressively colonized the Mediterranean coast, reaching the Region of Murcia in 2011 and the municipality of Lorca in 2015.
