The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has indicated that "since the Ministry of Health authorized the reopening of the medical offices after their closure, the City Council of Lorca has invested a total of 75,363 euros to assume all the actions indicated by the CARM , with which to adapt them to the conditions set by the health authorities, for the protection of workers and users " The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, has visited, this morning, the medical office of the Lorca district of Purias where they have completed the adaptation works that have involved a municipal investment of 25,784.72 euros, with an execution period of three weeks and is already available to the Ministry of Health so that it can be opened to the public as soon as possible, always depending on the epidemiological situation and the availability of health personnel. The mayor of Lorca explained that "these improvements that have been necessary to carry out the reopening of the office have consisted in the closing of the exterior porch as well as the restructuring of the interior of the center, which will allow to expand the waiting room, the doors access and exit of the office; in total an expansion of about 25 square meters that will avoid crossings between users and health personnel, the differentiation of the waste and cleaning warehouse and the clean storage area and the enabling of a consultation to isolate patients with symptoms similar to that produced by the Covid-19 virus ". Mateos has indicated that "for the reopening of this office it was necessary for the Ministry of Health to carry out the necessary adaptation works in order to guarantee the safety of both the staff and the users of the center.

At the beginning of June, the management from the health area III indicated to the Lorca City Council the need to carry out specific actions in this office ". The Mayor recalled that "due to the state of alarm decreed by the health crisis situation, the Primary Care Clinic of Purias stopped providing service on March 20, by decision of the Ministry of Health, to concentrate the staff health in primary health centers ". Diego José Mateos has specified that "since the Ministry of Health authorized the reopening of the medical offices after their closure, the City Council of Lorca has invested a total of 75,363.15 euros from the municipal coffers to take on all the actions indicated by the Ministry of Health and that, in particular, in that first phase, they were directed expressly to the adaptation of the offices of Tercia, La Hoya, Morata and Purias ". At present, and after the consequent indications of the Ministry of Health, the offices of Puente La Pia, Aguaderas, El Consejero and La Hearing continue under construction, whose adaptation works will be completed in the coming weeks.

In addition to these actions, since June the Lorca City Council has carried out works in the offices of La Hoya, Morata, Tercia, as well as the revision of the air conditioning systems of all the offices in accordance with the anti-coronavirus protocols, and the installation of protective screens in the administration areas of the 23 peripheral clinics in Lorca.
