Ángel Meca: "If a few weeks ago no one understood that when people were locked in their homes due to confinement, the streets were being disinfected, and now that there are more people on the streets than before and a high number of positive cases in Lorca, these tasks have been completely abandoned.

" The deputy spokesperson for the Popular Party in the Lorca town hall, Ángel Meca, has reiterated once again the implementation of a special plan to disinfect the streets of both the urban area and our districts.

"There are numerous complaints that they make us reach and a popular outcry in the social network, because the people of Lorca do not understand why the disinfection tasks in the municipality of Lorca were abandoned by the current local government of the PSOE". We must thank our farmers and ranchers for the work carried out at the beginning of the pandemic, to disinfect every corner of our municipality, in a selfless and altruistic way. From the Popular Party of Lorca we do not understand the absolute passivity and lack of initiative of the current mayor of Lorca Diego José Mateos, since we are at the worst moment since the beginning of the pandemic, with a very high number of infections and the possibility of adopt more severe measures to curb infections. In recent days we are finding neighbors who deposit the garbage bag outside the container avoiding touching it, passers-by standing at the traffic lights waiting for another to arrive to touch the button, elderly people looking for any type of garment to put on the bench before sitting down , etc. It is worth remembering the refusal of the government team to create a disinfection brigade in the last plenary session of July, at the initiative of a popular group, which shows once again the lack of seriousness and responsibility of the current local government. From the Popular Party we demand a Plan for Disinfection of public areas, which includes the fumigation and daily cleaning of streets and any element of public use within the municipality. Therefore, it is necessary to create a municipal brigade dedicated exclusively to the disinfection of streets, squares and other urban spaces throughout the municipal term.
