The City Council of Lorca will carry out improvements in the Municipal Children's School to adapt it to the health regulations for the prevention of coronavirus (19/08/2020)

The Councilor for Education, Antonia Pérez, has specified that among these works the playgrounds will be adapted, cleaning them and eliminating the existing grass and bushes, in addition to substituting gravel for concrete pavement to take advantage of areas that were unused and turn them into new ones recreational spaces ".The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Antonia Pérez, reported this morning of the battery of actions that are planned to take place at the Municipal Children's School in the coming weeks.The Councilor for Education explained that "these works are aimed at complying with the municipal Protocol that has been based on the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education, which includes safety and hygiene standards in response to the current health crisis situation and with the in order to guarantee the safety of all children and give peace of mind to the many families that use this municipal service ".Antonia Pérez has detailed that "among these improvements, the playgrounds that this infrastructure has will be adapted, cleaning them and eliminating the existing grass and bushes.

In addition, the existing gravel in the patios will be replaced by concrete pavement to be able to take advantage of those that they were unused and turned into a playground.

"Pérez Segura also added that "among these improvements, the elevation of five manholes located in the patios is included, as well as the execution of four tree pits for the existing trees in the courtyard."The mayor of Education has indicated that "a new steel door will also be installed to be able to provide the center again with an exit route without coinciding with the entrance, with the aim of guaranteeing interpersonal distance at all times".A landfill will also be installed in the patio area to be able to use it withouthave to access the interior of the building and all the locks and access doors to the center and those that divide the interior patios will be fixed so that they can all be used and thus be able to have the different entry and exit routes necessary.Antonia Pérez recalled that "all these improvements will make it possible to adapt this center to the new health circumstances so that parents can, as far as possible and as long as the evolution of the pandemic allows it, to resume normality in this municipal center" .It should be remembered that the Municipal Infant School of Lorca, located on Tenor Mario Gabarrón street, has six units with toilets in each adapted to the age of the children, a dining room, kitchen, psychomotor room, teachers room, offices and toilets , plus a playground.Finally, the mayor of Education has reiterated that "we will continue working for the application of all the measures, which, within our municipal scope, we can continue to implement to ensure that the return to the classroom is carried out with total normality".
