The Lorca City Council asks the Autonomous Community for optimal maintenance of the roads that are owned by it (07/10/2020)

The councilor of Pedanías, Antonio Navarro, has given as an example "the unfortunate state in which the RM D4 road is located, which connects Lorca with the southern districts, in which cars have great difficulty when traveling through the lack of visibility.

" The Councilor for Pedanías of the City Council of Lorca, Antonio Navarro, has asked the Autonomous Community "to keep its roads in good condition due to the danger they pose to the visibility and road safety of drivers and pedestrians who have to cross these routes ". Antonio Navarro has pointed out that "from the City Council we have sent several letters to the CARM demanding the maintenance of these roads and that it be done in optimal conditions" and he recalled that "from this Government team we have made great efforts, throughout this year, to keep the roads that are our responsibility in good condition, but we have also had to deal with others that do not correspond to us, so we ask CARM to take care of those that are owned by it.

" Navarro Pérez has insisted that "from the Consistory we cannot deal with the maintenance of the sections of the roads that correspond to the City Council and also those that do not concern us, as we already did with the RMD9 road, in which we proceeded to clearing from both shoulders, removing weeds and weeds.

" The councilor of Pedanías has given as an example "the state in which the RMD4 road that connects Lorca with the southern districts, such as Morata or Ramonete, is located, where the undergrowth of both margins makes it difficult to see, on a road that we remember has numerous hairpin bends ". Navarro recalled that already last June the City Council undertook work to clean the municipally owned roads, taking into account the danger and traffic that each road supports, and that it included many sections of roads whose maintenance corresponds to the Autonomous Community . Finally, the mayor insisted that "we will continue to demand these jobs, especially at a time when torrential rains are frequent, and the accumulation of weeds and weeds can make it difficult to drain the waters."
