Lorca City Council wishes to express its condolences on the death of Ms. Angeles Pascual, a retired professor of literature, who died today.
Pascual linked throughout her life to teaching, was named Adoptive Daughter City in 1997.
Ms. Angeles Pascual Lorca lived in since 1928. After graduating in language arts taught at the School of Industrial Master for more than 20 years to further develop her teaching career in high school Ibanez Martin and from 1973 until his retirement at the institute Francisco Ros Giner.
Pascual, passionate about teaching and literature itself, directed the municipal library for more than 30 years as well as being one of the creators of the Literary Contest María Agustina.
The City of Lorca held in his honor Storytelling Contest for Secondary Education "Awards Angeles Pascual", which this year celebrates its eighth year, and that Pascual own chaired the jury during its first editions.
In fact this afternoon is expected that the jury will meet to decide the prizes of the corresponding edition to 2016. He also received in 2011 Elio Award from the Friends of Culture.
From City of Lorca we regret as irreparable loss, as Ms. Angeles Pascual was a beloved wife and respected by all generations of Lorca who had the pleasure to know and to receive his teachings, as well as a person of enormous commitment to disseminating culture in the municipality.
