The Local Development Department initiates a battery of 10 courses to train 106 unemployed young people in locks, health care, hospitality, leisure and embroidery (05/12/2017)

This is the start of the first phase of the most ambitious plan that has been carried out in our municipality in terms of training and stimulating employment for young people, with a total investment of more than 1.8 million, that 423,000 correspond to this first series of courses and workshops.

The Councilor for Local Development in the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, reported that the City Council has activated the first phase of the Youth Employment Project Lorca.

It is the most ambitious plan in terms of youth employment that has been put on the table in our city, with a total investment of € 1,873,453.40, with the investment being considered for this first phase 423,024 euros

Martínez Navarro stressed that we are talking about a battery of 10 courses that start today whose theme includes activities of diverse topics ranging from locksmithing to auxiliary trade, through basic cooking operations, tourism promotion or embroidery.

We are talking about a range of courses designed to cover the interests of young people from Lorca who wish to obtain additional training in order to develop their professional activity, regardless of the sector in which they wish to enter the labor market.

In fact, one of the aims of this municipal initiative is to promote labor inclusion through the individual training of young people, promoting the stimulation of the socioeconomic fabric to boost the labor market in our municipality.

The Local Development Edil has anticipated that this first phase of the Youth Employment Project Lorca will benefit a total of 106 students who will receive a grant of 200 euros per month in their different courses and workshops, making available to a large multidisciplinary team that includes to 6 experts of which 2 are insertion technicians, 2 teachers, 1 English teacher and another one of computer science.

This team is implemented with a dozen monitors who will be responsible for the delivery of the courses at headquarters such as the Municipal Training Center and Employment Initiatives Torrecilla, Hacienda Los Olivos and Felipe VI Sports Complex.

Sandra Martinez explained that the complete list of courses that begin today, including duration, staff and training centers, is composed as follows,

"Locksmith" course

Duration: 6 Months

Staff: 2 monitors and 10 students

Training center: Municipal Training Center and Employment Initiatives of La Torrecilla.

Course "Socio-health care for dependents in social institutions"

Duration: 6 Months

Staff: 1 instructor and 12 students

Training center: Municipal Center for Training and Employment Initiatives of La Torrecilla

Course of "Auxiliary activities of commerce"

Duration: 4 Months

Staff: 1 monitor and 10 students

Training center: La Torrecilla Municipal Training Center and Employment Initiatives

Course "Auxiliary operations of assembly and maintenance of microcomputer systems"

Duration: 5 Months

Staff: 1 monitor and 10 students

Training center: La Torrecilla Municipal Training Center and Employment Initiatives

Course "Basic kitchen operations"

Duration: 5 Months

Staff: 1 monitor and 1 monitor and 10 students

Training center: Hacienda Los Olivos

Course "Basic restaurant-bar operations"

Duration: 5 Months

Staff: 1 monitor;
