The Cavalry Squad of the Civil Guard will escort the Virgen de los Dolores (21/03/2018)

The Cavalry Squad of the Civil Guard, based in the Madrid municipality of Valdemoro, will fulfill its participation this Friday in the Biblical-Pastoral Parades of the Holy Week of Lorca, its XII Anniversary by providing escort to the image of Our Mother the Blessed Virgin de los Dolores, owner of the Hermandad de Labradores, Paso Azul.

The participation of this section in the parades of Easter Week Lorquina goes back to 1999, during the last year of the mandate of the president of the Blue Step, Cristóbal Alcolea Paredes.

The tradition that elEscuadrónescoltara the holder of the Brotherhood of Labradors is due to the fact that during the second half of the 20th century the Civil Guard on horseback opened the Biblical Passional Parades.

The custom would be lost when the section on horseback was removed from the city.

It is the only Saddle on Horse Scale that remains active throughout Europe.

It is the mounted unit of the Civil Guard that assumes along with its usual work tasks, honors and protocol.

It is part of the Reserve and Security Groups (GRS). In the Friday parade will take part 17 components of it that will reach Lorca during the day on Thursday.

Later that same day, at 7:00 pm, various authorities of the city headed by the Mayor of Lorca will receive them at the Palacio de Guevara.

It is worth remembering that in 2008 the Escuadrón received the greatest distinction of the blues, when being appointed Honor's Butler of the Brotherhood, merit that was given to him at the Friday of Sorrows Mass in the church of San Francisco, religious headquarters of the Brotherhood. El Paso Azul also handed over to the aforementioned Cavalry Squad the flags for the bugle section, a series of pieces embroidered in the workshops of the Brotherhood.

This section of the Armed Institute also received its emblem and embroidered shield in the same workshops.

The pennant is made with the traditional Lorca technique.

More than 500 hours of embroidery were invested in its realization, on Andalusian green satin and yellow gold.

On one side, the National shield is embroidered and on the other, the Cavalry Squadron itself.

At the express request of the controls of the same, appears in its lower right margin the name of the Brotherhood of Laborers.
