105 businesses damaged by the earthquakes are distributed over half a million euros of aid already approved for rehabilitation or relocation (04/05/2012)

Councilman Trade of the City of Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez, explained that 64 of them were uninsured and 41 businesses with insurance.

Councilman Trade of the City of Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez, reported this morning that 105 commercial establishments damaged by earthquakes have already approved aid for rehabilitation of damage to the May 11 earthquake, making a total of 543,064, 21 euros.

Sanchez explained that this figure was reached yesterday in the second weekly meeting of the technical committee composed of municipal and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Ceclor to approve the granting of aid to businesses that were uninsured on May 11, 2011.

At this meeting were awarded 20 new grants totaling EUR 93,033.79, which added to the 44 euros worth 227,696.97 for a total of 64 grants for uninsured businesses totaling EUR 320,730.76.

Thus although the line allowed to grant aid up to 8,000 euros per trade average required by cases resolved so far is around 5,000 euros.

Of these two establishments are industrial, 25 shops, 11 hospitality venues, 17 services and nine of other types, such as staples.

These grants are in addition to the 41 already granted by the Joint Commission in the amount of 222,333.45 euros for businesses who were insured when earthquakes occurred but the Insurance Compensation Consortium does not cover the total damages.

These grants to be funded 50% by the Central Government and 50% by the Regional Government, through the ICO, have been requested by a total of 276 businesses insured, once on Monday concluded the application deadline.
