The collaboration between the Department of Education and Policy Staff Consistory Lorca and 15 volunteer readers eliminate barriers for people with reading difficulties with the program 'We will read'.

The Mayor Aldermen and Education Policy Council of Lorca, Mari Carmen Ruiz and Francisco Montiel, underlined the success of the project 'We will read', launched in late October 2013 a collaboration of these two municipal areas , which involves the creation of a sound bank accounts to facilitate access to books all people who for whatever reason (reading difficulties, mobility problems or vision, hospitalization, ...).

Montiel stated that the websites of public libraries of Lorca, bibliotecasmunicipaleslorca.blogspot.com.es, and the Department of the Mayor, www.lorcamayor.lorca.es offer utterances and 64 works selected by library staff and recorded by 15 volunteers. Ruiz explained that "in this way everyone who wants to can listen to this series of short readings of literary works, whose voice is that of several people (actors, poets, teachers and journalists) who have generously agreed to collaborate by lending his voice. Parallel , writing workshops and storytelling that enable the authors to record their stories, thus broadening the channels of participation of our greatest artists and storytellers making them their own stories are made.

This project stems from the First Campaign to Promote Reading Elder, carried to term by both Councils, in collaboration with the Municipal Library "Pilar Barnes" engaged in activities such as the network of libraries concerted sensitization visits to the world of books, lending reading material (letter books XL size) to institutions dedicated to higher to create their own clubs, and information and dissemination of existing resources for reading in the library, facilitating their access to themselves, as well as information about the possibility of sociocultural animation that provides reading.

In addition, the loan is made films according to the readings for adults and reading material according to their cognitive needs (plus reading books, easy books ...).
