The Ministry spent over 73 million euros to the regeneration of neighborhoods and improve accessibility in Lorca
The Minister of Development, Public Works and Planning, Manuel Campos, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, signed a collaboration agreement that over 32 million Euro for the implementation of urban renewal seven performances today in areas of the city affected by the earthquakes of May 2011.
Specifically, we will develop road works Eulogio Periago Santa Clara Avenue, Avenue of Europe and adjacent areas, street and neighborhood Abellaneda San Cristobal mall Cervantes, Juan Carlos I Avenue and adjacent spaces and urbanization Neighborhood of Los Angeles and Apollonia.
The Minister of Works said after signing the agreement, that "this act reiterates the absolute commitment of the Government of the Region of Murcia with the reconstruction of Lorca and the revival of the city, since the works being carried out are far beyond the mere repair of damaged and target substantially improve what was there before that sad day. Convention
With this agreement, the Community, through the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, contracted obligations to handle procurement procedures required for the implementation of actions and deliver to the City the executed works, once recepcionadas thereof.
For its part, the City of Lorca acquired, among others, obligations to make available to the Department of Development, Public Works and Planning lands within the public domain for the execution of these tasks, as well as lead out the actions required for the completion of works.
It will also provide the necessary technical support for the drafting of technical projects and conducting performances of urbanization, especially as regards the layout and location of infrastructure networks.
Over 73 million in neighborhood regeneration
These actions will be financed by the Autonomous Community, through funds from the European Investment Bank, which will allow investment of up to EUR 185 million for the recovery of the town of Lorca after the earthquakes.
Of this, over 73 million euros is earmarked for neighborhood regeneration and improving accessibility.
