Rosa Díez: "We are here to break taboos and to force the PP and PSOE to behave as national parties" (23/04/2010)

The national spokesman and deputy Unión Progreso y Democracia, Rosa Díez, offered late yesterday at a conference in the city of Lorca (Murcia), in which she reviewed the reasons that prompted the creation of his political and, by Díez, were none other than the abandonment of both PP and PSOE in its responsibility as national parties to work to structure and defend Spain equality of all citizens living in the region they live.

The MP stressed the need to reform the Constitution in some specific aspects, particularly as it affects the distribution of powers and decentralization.

To Díez, it is not possible in our country there are many educational policy as autonomous regions, and called for the recovery of powers to the State in this field.

Rosa Díez also referred to the need to reform the Justice for it to be truly independent.

"Do not end up with corruption while in this country do not have an independent judiciary," he said.

In this sense, Díez highlighted the obstacles that both PP and PSOE have yet to depoliticize the Justice, and charged that in this case the two other major parties agree, for political and partisan.

Díez also referred to the need to reform the electoral law, describing it as unfair to smaller parties and non-nationalist formations, but particularly for citizens, whose votes do not have the same value depending on where and who vote.

In this regard, the spokesman said UPyD "PP and PSOE alternating play, not the alternative," and for this reason they refuse to change an electoral law that favors them.

Finally, Díez also referred to fiscal policy, complaining that the state has fewer tools to intervene, instruments that have been transferred to the Autonomous Regions.
