The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, congratulated the school's educational community for betting on the further training of their students with this initiative in which students will have their own musical and various arts workshops with which encourage personal development and respect for diversity

The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, has this morning welcomed 500 students from six schools in the region involved in the day in the Mus-e intercenter Conference organized by the Public School St. Christopher lorquino neighborhood of the same name, with the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation.

Peñarrubia congratulated the leadership and the entire educational community center promoting the organization of this activity, which included a musical performance by students participating center itself in the Mus-e program, as well as students from schools Barriomar 74, Murcia, Roldan Ardieta Hernandez, Lopez and Stella Maris Primitiva Cartagena, and the Institute Sierra Minera de La Unión.

This morning there will also be entertainment and recreational workshops in drawing and painting, theater and dance, for which the groups will rotate.

The council has stressed that "the Mus-e program aims to contribute to the arts to the intellectual, aesthetic and social person.

The arts stimulate the pleasure of discovery, curiosity, interest and knowledge of other knowledge, promote the full expression of personality, the interaction of body language, emotional and aesthetic. "

With this program, students work from the senses, body language, space, imagination, developing creativity and curiosity for learning.

In addition, it enables the acceptance and respect for diversity, favoring mixing as much as possible without losing their roots, learn about other cultures, and develop attitudes of tolerance and respect for diversity, to prevent racism, xenophobia and exclusion social.

Thus, it promotes social integration.

Similarly, the Mus-e program is to facilitate the access of disadvantaged groups and promote the art of self-esteem building, motivation, initiative and accountability, while facilitating group cohesion and respect peers.

Finally, the Councillor for Education has stated that "the City Council are promoting several initiatives to promote music, drawing and theater among students."

Mus-e Program was developed by the violinist Yehudi Menuhin (1916-1999), in collaboration with Schimmitt Werner, Director of the School of the Conservatory of Berne, on the idea of Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967) who believed that music should part of daily education and be accessible to everyone.

Menuhin expanded the concept in the field of multicultural reality, extending to all artistic disciplines.

The MUS-E first developed in Switzerland in 1994 and Spain in 1996.

Since then it has grown to be implemented in 443 schools in fifteen countries in Europe, currently working on the 892 program and participating artists in it, at European level, over 45,000 children.
