The Department of Local Police and Public Safety the Hon.
Lorca City Council wishes to inform that within the operational activities carried out by the Local Police, members of the Special Units of Public Safety (UESCARM) have proceeded to the arrest of an individual as the author of crime of burglary and damage one of the core group dedicated to the theft of copper in transformers and facilities.
The detainee is a man of 34 years and was intercepted by local police manning when, after performing with other buddies, had forced the doors of light processing facilities of the complex San Julián, removing those transformers and extracted copper coils and were ready to be stolen.
The action was launched on the 03'30 hours of the morning of Saturday, May 22 this year, after receiving notice from a resident of the area had seen a vehicle prowl in the area in a strange way.
After receiving the call the local police patrol spotted the vehicle parked inside the individual that was finally stopped.
The place is person a Civil Guard patrol, required for initial responders who helped throughout the procedure and direct the appropriate steps for referral to the appropriate duty court.
The prisoner showed signs of having been manipulating external metal parts with grease and oil and incurred numerous contradictions about its presence in the area.
Then it was found that there were several copper coils ready to be stolen, several electrical transformers and fully disassembled and destroyed the doors of the huts that housed had been forced.
